GILL have provided Nick with all his technical clothing for the last three years. This has included the Oryx Quest, Mini Transat, Round Britain and Ireland, Route du Rhum and now GILL have generously backed both Nick and Tanguy for the Transat Jacques Vabre.
Since the Round Britain and Ireland in 2006, Nick has been using SPINLOCKS innovative deckvest (life jacket and deck harnes) and climbing harness; both of which were developed in conjunction with climbing experts Petzl.

The John Merricks Sailing Trust has been in operation for ten years and has helped many young sailors and youth sailing organisations to achieve their goals.
During 2003, the JMST presented Nick with a £5000 grant to support his Mini Transat campaign.

Quantum have made countless sails for Nick’s various campaigns, most recently, a new mainsail and solent for the 30 ft trimaran.
Since the build of Nick’s second, Mini GBR 419, Wessex have always provided both their product and technical support.
From 2003 up to and including the Route du Rhum in 2006, Plastimo provided Nick with their leading products. In specific, the Navman electronics range and major safety kit such as liferafts and EPIRBS.
For both of the Nick’s new Minis’ GBR419 and GBR 500, Harken supplied all the deck gear and technical support at a fantastic rate.

During the Mini Transat in 2005 and throughout 2006, Seamark Nunn gave Nick significant support both in terms of lending him their RIBs when required and also helping out with any chandlery items. Nick opened their new shop in July 2006.
During the Round Britain and Ireland in 2006, Nick and Pete/Alex used Tackticks wireless range of electrical instruments In particular they wer eusing the rotatng wingmast of the trimaran to help test the wind unit which could calculate true wind angles after accounting for the mast rotation.
OYS provided Nick and Pete/Alex with new PBO cap shrouds for the trimaran for the Round Britain and Ireland 2006
The yacht harbour at Levington have always handled the launch of Nick’s new boats and found a berh when required. With Quantum Sails based on the same site, this has been an invaluable resource.
